It’s an awkward time to buy a new television.
Diving into the rows and rows of screens at the back of every big box store, all the televisions look similar and in any colour you like as long as its black or silver. No one would blame you for choosing the big, HD set with the “offer ends” price tag.
The headline fact is simple and dramatic: 4K Ultra HD TVs (also known as UHD TVs) deliver four times as much detail as 1080p Full HD, that’s eight million pixels compared to two million pixels.
Price is not a game changer either with some of the biggest brands offering great buys starting from as little as £749 for a respectable 42” set.
