What do I need for the service to work?
Although the system will work with 2Mb ADSL, we recommend a minimum 3Mb connection. In addition, a set-top box supplied by Telitec and a 4 port router are required.
Can I use on more than 1 TV?
Yes, but both TV's would have to watch the same channel. Alternatively a second set-top box can be purchased and installed, enabling separate viewing. A high speed ADSL connection would be required.
Can I pause Live TV?
Yes, you can pause live or playback TV whenever you want, simply by pressing the pause button located on your remote.
Can I watch programmes from earlier in the week?
Yes, you can watch programmes that are up to 7 days old.
On the TV system I have now, certain channels are breaking up in the evening - why will this system work any better?
Telitec TV is an IPTV system that works via the internet. There are no dishes required to run the system, so there is no problem of breaking up due to the satellite footprint.
Why is this different from Sky?
We offer only free-to-view channels and our monthly charge is only for the software programming which allows all the unique features such as rewind and pause.
Is it legal?
Yes. We have implemented requirements from the provider to make it legal. See the EU Directive for more details.
What if my router is in a different room?
The best option is to run a cable from the router to the set-top box. Alternatively "internet-over-mains" adaptors can be used, which provide a cable-free connection between rooms.
What quality of picture should I expect?
The service offers HD quality
Is there a contract? Can I suspend?
There is no contract. However, as the service is invoiced per calendar month, we will need one full month's notice to suspend. A one-off 5 € admin charge is made to re-activate.
